Access Statement For Small Self Catering unit

 

Introduction

Our self-catering cottage is in what used to be a small brewery. The accommodation is unsuitable for anyone with mobility disability, because of the numerous steps. We have tried to provide as much information as possible in this statement, if you have any queries please do call.  Cottage has central heating with thermostically controlled radiators and electric heaters.  We look forward to welcoming you.

 

Pre-Arrival
 
• We have a comprehensive website

• Bookings/enquiries can be made via email, fax or phone

• The bus stop is at the entrance of the main house. 

• The nearest train station (Stroud) is 2 miles away; there are accessible taxis at the

  station (details below)

• We can arrange for welcome pack

• We can provide information in large print on request

 

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

• There is off road parking, across the road, for one car opposite the main house

• The car park is level

• There is a public lay-by for extra vehicles within 50m

 

Reception
 
• Entrance at the front of the main house is through a small wooden gate down 2 steps 

  15cm (6”) up 1 step up 20cm (8”) to landing;
• The kitchen door has one step 18cm (7”) high.

• Through wooden gate down 15 steps, 10 steps 4.5” (11.5cm) and 5 at 7” (18cm);

  across decking walkway to

• The French doors 107cm (42”) wide inwards opening to lounge. 

• There is a threshold of 5cm when entering the cottage and 1 (19cm) 7.5” step into

  lounge

 

Lounge/Dining area

 

• Dιcor is Cotswold stone walls, natural wooden skirting boards and features, fitted

  short piled carpet, rug with matching curtains.

• Small patio with table, chairs and parasol; superb views across valleys to Stroud

• Good mobile phone reception

• Evacuation of cottage is by the nearest room or fire exit; please inform on arrival of

  individual requirements in case of evacuation.  Fire extinguisher is at the top of the

  spiral staircase

• There is no smoking at all, on or off the premises, including the curtilage of the

  property
